About James

I am a former semi-professional and division ii/iii player who has continued to stay in the game coaching a nationally ranked baseball team out of Long Island NY.

I am a current college certified athletic trainer who spent a year interning with the NY Mets gaining information on strength and conditioning, fundamentals, and arm care.

This isn't work. Baseball has given me amazing opportunities and I want to pass that along.

I have been coaching since I played international baseball as part of our time in each country was to coach some of the local youth teams.

I played high school baseball for a former MLB pitcher. I was recruited to play division II baseball till a knee injury side tracked me. I transferred to division III school and played my four years there setting numerous schools batting records. I continued on to play in 3 countries professionally before returning to the US and coaching. I currently coach a nationally ranked 2022 team. I also have a degree from Hofstra University in Athletic Training, which plays right into sports performance and preventative injury exercise which is a big part of playing this game.

Working with new students and players the first thing I like to do is establish a routine. This starts with a proper warmup and stretch, throwing and then breaking down into positional skill work. When it comes to hitting everyone is different and like to get a fee for the athletes swing the first few rounds. I use video to breakdown swing and also talk a lot about the mental aspect of this game.

I have worked with students ages 9-20. Currently I work with 13 students age 14-17 who are all looking to commit to college.
