About Kirk

Baseball has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My father was a professional catcher with the Chattanooga Lookouts and later served as a bench coach for the Milwaukee Brewers, giving me the opportunity to grow up around the professional game.
Bruce Fields was my personal hitting coach growing up and had a major influence on how I learned to hit and how I teach the game today. I went on to play collegiate baseball, worked out with professional organizations, spent time around independent baseball, and have spent years coaching and developing players.
I specialize in catching and hitting instruction for youth, travel, high school and showcase-level athletes. Catching sessions focus on receiving, blocking, footwork, exchanges, throwing, pop time and game management. Hitting sessions focus on mechanics, timing, approach, pitch recognition and consistent hard contact.
I don’t believe in putting every athlete through the same drills. I teach players what we’re working on, why it matters and how to apply it in games. My goal is to develop skilled, confident players who understand the game and learn how to make adjustments on their own.
