About Trisha

I love working with students who are facing academic challenges in hopes that I can bring some fun into the learning environment. My goal is to engage students so they want to learn more then what is required and foster active learners. I will receive my bachelors degree in arts and science from WGU by the end of 2022 and have a years worth of student teaching as well as 4 years of tutoring experience in a middle school setting. I have worked one-on-one, in small groups, and with whole classes but I enjoy the one-on-one tutoring aspect more than classroom teaching!

I have a lot of experience in the math and science field of tutoring and bring hands-on activities into my lessons as much as possible.

I was first introduced to tutoring while in high school and after a year I decided to apply for student teaching positions in my school and others. I was accepted into a teaching program in high school and knew that I wanted to become a teacher after college.

I have worked as a student teaching in an elementary school for a year as well as tutor middle school students for about 4 years.
I have worked with a handful of teachers all with different teacher styles giving me lots of experience with different types of learners as well. Esl and special education included.

About the lesson

1. Access current skills and define poor learning areas

2. Create a study/lesson plan that the student, parents, and tutor (myself) can agree on

3. Follow the plan created and adjust it as needed until the student has mastered content areas.

I have worked with ESL students, students with learning disabilities and IEPs, as well as AP science students.

Hire a teacher who is able to be relatable to you in some way like similar hobbies and that can provide the most learning in short amounts of time.

$10 an hour- after initial assessment with student and parents to determine plan. (15-20 minutes)

initial assessment is done with all students I work with in order to foster open educational communication between parents and students.
