About Kayla

I have been an elementary educator for the past 11 years. I am certified to teach Reading/ELA up to 12th grade. My speacialties are anything ELA related, ESOL, and elementary math, science, and social studies. I have worked as an instructional coach for the last 4 years and am very experienced in providing interventions for struggling students.

Being able to foster a love for leaning has always driven my decision to work in education. My goal has been to help make learning more fun and accessible for all students despite their setbacks, struggles, and motivation.

About the lesson

First is getting to know the student, and what their struggles are in the classroom. I usually start by administering a small assessment to see where they are, and to help guide my instruction moving forward. I also like to take into consideration their interests to make learning more enjoyable for all parties.
