About Rachel
I have a bachelor's and master's in education and will complete my Ph.D. in history this year. In addition, I am certified at the Associate Level in Orton Gillingham. I have completed all three levels of training with the Institute for multisensory education, completed my first level of training with Lexcersize (designed by speech pathologists), and became a Certified Orton Gillingham tutor with Orton Gillingham Academy at the Associate Level (which included 65 hours of live treating, and a 100 hour supervised practicum with a certified fellow.
Orton Gillingham is not a program or curriculum but an approach that is scientifically proven results and is invaluable when practiced with fidelity. In addition, I have homeschooled my eight children for 17 years, and they are all honors students, even my children with dyslexia (whom I did remediation with). My oldest is attending college a year early next year with 36 college credits and studying pre-med. I am passionate about teaching students with dyslexia or language processing errors, and I have had proven results with all of my students!
