About Sophie
My name is Sophie Cragg and I am a freelance tutor with lots of experience teaching children as well as adults. I have a friendly, individual-based approach. I am student-led, in the sense that I learn how each student learns and what they respond to best and then shape the lesson plans to suit them. I prefer the carrot to the stick, and although I can be strict when needed I value the importance of praise, positivity and having fun when learning. I studied English at Sussex University before going on to train as an actor at LAMDA. I love to teach both subjects and find my passion for both a great asset in my teaching method. I also grew up in the south of France so speak French fluently and have a lot of experience teaching it as a second language to all ages and abilities. Sophie taught my daughter Hannah English A-Level last year. She markedly improved her grades from her mocks to the final exam. Throughout, I find Sophie a pleasure to work with, and Hannah enjoyed her lessons, which she said were stimulating, rigorous and enlightening. Much recommended!
