About Evgenia
As a recent graduate of Fordham University and an aspiring educator, I am enthusiastic about pedagogy. I hope to provide invaluable assistance to students, especially those with learning disabilities and help them achieve their academic goals.
I began studying English due to my love for the written word, and I would not be here today without the help of my supportive teachers and tutors, whom I wish to emulate. I would be so excited to provide similar guidance and instruction to today's students.
At Fordham University, where I earned an M.A. in English Literature, my love for the written word grew into a refined ability to read and write attentively. I learned that details are the materials of insights and arguments, and essential to clear writing. Using these skills, I have studied many literary genres and diverse works by authors from Shakespeare to Louisa May Alcott and Chinua Achebe from a pedagogical perspective. For example, when examining George Eliot’s Middlemarch, I explored how best to teach political reform in Victorian England. My goal is always to make the subject I love relevant to the modern classroom, whether in-person or virtually on-line. I learned to incorporate pop culture into lesson plans and develop global, critical approaches to texts.
