About Grace
My name is Grace, and I am passionate about education and writing. I have been trained professionally as a writing mentor at UC San Diego, where I have mentored university students with a focus on college essay writing and analytical reading skills. I also have over 150 hours of volunteer experience in high school classrooms, where I have tutored students, assisted teachers, and led lessons. My specialty is college admissions essays. My goal is to help amplify your voice as a writer so that you can best articulate your unique thoughts.
I truly love to get to know each student I work with and to develop an appreciation for their unique intelligence and passions. Every student has a unique learning style and I love to draw from students' strengths to conquer a goal or task that may have seemed difficult at first. My favorite part about being a tutor is being able to help someone realize how capable they really are.
I have trained and worked UC San Diego as a writing mentor. I have also studied Educational Studies at UCSD, and have a strong understanding and appreciation for learning styles and curriculum design. I have over 150 volunteer hours in high schools and have assisted teachers and tutored students throughout San Diego. I am studying to become an English teacher and have completed the CSET: English exam. I am just about to finish my degree in Human Development, and will then begin my Master's program in Education.

I simply want to help you meet your goals in a way that is engaging to you and plays to your strengths. I have a very friendly and conversational tutoring style, but I'm also results-oriented. I will make sure that by the end of our session, you are closer to achieving your goals. I like to provide tools that you can take with you and advice that is easy to follow.

Grace was truly a godsend for us. She educated me on how to relate to my neurodivergent child but provided so many resources. I truly feel trusted and valued her opinion.
