About Amy
I absolutely love English and try to make it as fun and understandable for my students as possible. I love connecting with my students and helping them connect to the literature and the English language in a more meaningful way. I have my masters degree in English and education. I currently teach high school English, but hope to some day teach at the college level. I have a background of working in special education at the primary and middle school level.
I have always had a passion for leading others. I managed a bakery for many years, but found that training new employees was quite enjoyable. I have also helped tutor friends of mine throughout college. I love passing on knowledge and helping others learn.
I have my masters in English and education. My bachelors degree is also in education. I am currently working as a high school English teacher, but I have also worked in special education in the past at the elementary and middle school levels.

When I work with a new student, I first like to chat with them a bit to figure out how they learn best so that I can differentiate my instruction accordingly. I feel that building even the most basic relationship with them will also help them feel more comfortable with me and help foster a more productive learning environment.
I have worked with special education elementary and middle school-aged children in the past. I now teach general education high school students (Freshmen through Senior) English and Creative Writing.
