I pride myself in the rapport I build with my students. I teach the whole student. I have taken classes and conducted research to propel my professional development into understanding kids. I am especially proud of my work with kids who often shut down. I include social emotional learning into my lesson plans as a special education teacher every week. Student have shown to increase their engagement and learning as a result.

I always say that I have the best job in the world and I really do. Seeing students from middle school to high school mature and learn challenging concepts is incredibly rewarding. I think teaching reading and writing is challenging for many teachers but I feel I am able to connect with students in a way they haven't had and help them gain the necessary skills to enable them to read and write on their own. My goal for all of my students is for them to be independent when reading and writing. One day, they won't need me which is sad but also rewarding. I love helping kids achieve their goals. There is so much more I could say. Please email me (concealed information)

I started teaching swimming lessons after parents approached me at the pool where I lifeguarded in college. After teaching 3 students how to swim in 5 sessions, I felt the rewards of teaching. That was when I realized I wanted to be a teacher.

First I like to get to know the student. It is important that my students always know that I care about their interests. This also helps me to plan engaging lesson plans for students. Secondly, depending on what the student needs help with, we may list goals or begin a postive reinforcement program. Then we may begin to organize and plan to write an essay or dissect a text in order to understanding its meaning.

My 9th grade class is currently writing an argument Essay. I provided students with a resource that I sell on Teachers Pay Teachers. They did an incredible job! These students are all classified and have IEPs. They really were engaged and motivated
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
(concealed information)
They should think about areas that really challenge them. Is it hard to tell mom or dad what is for homework? Is it a challenge when the teacher talks for 30 minutes? Is it a challenge when you have to stay seated? Is following along while others read a challenge?

I really appreciate how comfortable you made me feel in your class. Thank you for putting the extra effort into helping me.
Christina was excellent when she worked with my son. She took the time to really understand his personal needs and where he struggled. She found reading passages that he would like to help keep his interest. She challenged him and didn’t let him take the easy way out. She was patient and he really enjoyed working with her. It was clear she really cares about her students.
Thank you for your lovely presence at the IEP meeting. I truly appreciate your insights regarding my daughters learning needs. I am looking forward to our phone cal for further clarification
Ms. Lee is patient, articulates well, and makes the difficult easy to understand. She goes above and beyond after-hours addressing emails and concerns.
Christina worked with my daughter who struggles in ELA. Christina was patient and understanding of my daughters needs and was able to, after a few minutes of working with her, know exactly what her strengths and weaknesses were. Christina has a way of teaching that is completely engaging, bringing excitement into learning. My daughter has made wonderful progress since working with Christina and has been able to use the skills taught to her in her other classes. Christina’s love for teaching and her love for kids is overwhelming evident and her skill for recognizing and meeting a student’s need is exceptional. My daughter loves every minute she spends with Christina and has a renewed confidence in learning thanks to Christina. I highly recommend Christina!!!!
