About Monica

I am currently a special education teacher and I have experience teaching math and English Language Arts at the elementary and early middle school level. I have experience in teaching students how to read and can modify curriculum to fit specific students needs. I love teaching and helping students succeed and I would love the opportunity to help more students!

I love working along side students to help them reach their goals! Every student is so different in their own amazing and unique way and I enjoy getting to know them and working with them to do what is best for their learning.

I have brothers that are special needs and I decided to go to school to become a special education teacher and help kids like my brothers succeed. I have been working in special education for 5 years now.

About the lesson

I get to know who the student is as a person and then I talk with them about what their personal learning goals are. We work out a plan to help them achieve those goals and I modify and break down the work they need assistance with in order to help them better understand the material.

Preschool, special education K-8th grade both severe and moderate

I would tell them that I will do my absolute best to help them succeed and I would also tell them to do what is best for their individual needs.

I recently changed the way the special education program works at the school I work at. I was given the freedom to mold the program and change to where it best benefits all students and I am grateful to have had the experience to mold a whole program.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They should think about goals they want to se for themselves. For example: What goals do I want to reach during my tutoring sessions? When do I want to achieve these goals? How do I learn best? What characteristics do I want someone to have in order for them to help me succeed?
