About Leticia
Dancing Crowns is a unique concept when it comes to the dance part of the business. We are the only studio where you learn authentic dances from the Caribbean and not the wanna be version of franchised studios. However, you will be able to dance with anyone at socials and events. We specialize in Salsa from Puerto Rico, LA Style and NYC Style. We also offer Belly Dance, Bomba Drums and Dance and yes, we also offer the Fantasy Ballroom Dances as private lessons, but when it comes to Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha we teach the authentic way.
I love having 1/2 of my space at the syudio for teaching adults how to dance and the other side of the studio is a metaphysical esoteric boutique full of handmade jewelry, gemmy crystals, candles, oils and all kinds of smudge and smokeless smudge sprays. I am an author from Hay House so I use my own Secrets of Paradise Tarot for the Readings (by appointment).
I was already teaching Bomba prior to Ballroom. I was dancing Bomba at an event at Arthur Murray and the owner saw my natural ability and asked me to work with them and free training. I accepted! In the Arthur Murray from Puerto Rico we never used the fantasy ballroom way of Latin and Caribbean Dances, but the owner (Tato Conrad) was always making sure we learned and teach the authentic way, which is different than the rest of the franchised studios in the US. That is what makes me stand out from other studios in my area. I also teach some brief history thorugh my classes. Students love it!
I am the only teacher in this area that teaches authentic Salsa, Bachata and Cha Cha Cha directly from the Caribbean and with a technique for the student to be able to dance with anyone at social events.
Majority of my students are women so my studio support empowering all ladies who wants to learn not only to follow but if they want to lead we teach them that too, something that makes us stand out from any other studio.
In 2011 I was Certified in Belly Dance during the Mediterranean Int. Belly Dance Festival that took place in Marrakesh, Morocco. I was a Certified Dance Teacher at Arthur Murray in Puerto Rico and Florida for 5 years, I worked at a Fred Astaires too for about 1 year and then became an independent Teacher by contract for Salsa Heat in Florida. I have College Graduate Studies in Education of the Performing Arts with a Major in Dance from Turabo University.
I have compete in Salsa and Ballroom several times and have performed Nationwide and Internationally.
I also teach Meditation, Yoga and Bomba Drums and Dance and Latin Cardio (not Zumba).
I am the Author of Puerto Rico's Authentic Music and Dances that will be published soon.
I am also a Psychic, Tarot Reader and Certified in Kundalini Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Crystal Healing, Angels Healing and Tantra. I teach workshops in Pendulum, Tarot and Crystals. I am about to publish my own Tarot Deck soon, the first one in history with illustrations, symbolism, Goddesses and Gods from the Caribbean and Latin America with Hay House Publishing.

When it comes to new students we offer the stronger foundations as we take the time to explain every basic step and technique. We do not just throw new steps randomly but we provide the best technique from the beggining as we are truthful and honest in our practices. We will never hold back technique just for the person to feel they need to buy more classes, but in the contrary, we teach you with the correct way of doing every step from the beggining. Even during group classes you get a certain amount of individual time during class to help you advance in your learning curve.
I have experience working with all ages and some disabilities. However, right now I am working with adults. I accept teens 17 and up if parents give a written consent and the young person is all about focusing and learning.
To always hire the one who teaches the authentic style. In my case, I am from the place Salsa, Bomba, and other Latin Dances are originally from, so why hire someone else to teach you the non-authentic Salsa if you have the real deal here? Look for the biography. In my case I have trained in the Mediterranean for Belly Dance so I will make sure you get the best education in all areas regarding this genre. I also have over 20 years teaching, competing and performing Ballroom Dances (Hustle, Argentine Tango, American Rhythm and American Smooth). I have also worked with Wedding Couples and other special requests. I have teach corporate groups and performed Nationwide and Internationally.
I have so many events that I loved! When I perform or teach a workshop I always make it unforgetable for the audience.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is important to think about what goals they have. If they just want to take a weekly group lesson for weekly fun and exercise or if they have other long term goals for performing and competing. That way they can plan for only group classes or include privates too.
For couples, do not be afraid of taking group lessons. But privates are most effective sometimes. I am still not understanding why men do not take dance lessons when we (women) find it so romantice and fun to dance with our husbands/boyfriends. This also apply to LGBTQ+ couples for leading and following each other properly thourgh dance and enjoying events at another level. we are an inclusive dance studio and we talk about leading and following not man and woman only.
Please understand private lessons will be more expensive as you have the 100% attention for you (individuals or couples).

I love dancing with her she is so non judgemental. Her studio has great energy and I really love it
