Ernesto is a seasoned supreme guitar instructor, virtuoso technical player, session guitarrist, mixing engineer and is highly respected in the Los Angeles guitar player scene. He has a very special ability to hear or watch the most difficult possible players (ie Shawn Lane, Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert), dissect their technique in detail (and this becomes very complex very fast) and not only reproduce it flawlessly no matter how hard, but is also capable to patiently teach his student precisely how its done while spotting each pitfall holding the student back. Complete proficiency in theory, repertoire or anything guitar goes without saying since he has decades of experience instructing at Musicians Institute Hollywood which is the pinnacle of guitar schools in the world. My playing made quantum leaps under his watch (especially understanding and applying technique) and I couldn’t recommend Ernesto more. If Jason Backer gets very excited about his playing and leaves him glorious praise comments watching his youtube videos, you should be sure to be in very good company!

Ernesto is a shredder at heart but it resides under a massive skill set of groove, tempo, harmony and melody that governs his teaching. While studying with Ernesto we worked Yngwie, Jason Becker and Marty, but it was always in the context of musicality. Ernesto's sweep and alt. picking are masterful and he ensured that my learning and practice incorporated those lessons. To this day i still warm up with Ernesto's sweep arpeggios🤘🔥👍 Highly recommended.
