About Elijah
I am a professional guitarist and pianist in Philadelphia with a passion for teaching students of all skill levels. Whether you're just starting out, or are already playing gigs all the time, I believe I have something for you to elevate your musicianship and technique on your instrument. I have 8 years of experience teaching students as young as 6, as well as adults of all ages. My main specialty as a performer is jazz guitar and piano, but I love many genres of music and regularly perform in blues, rock, and country settings as well.
I graduated in 2019 from Temple University's Boyer College of Music with a degree in Jazz Guitar Performance, having studied under guitarists Peter Bernstein and Mike Moreno. Since then, I have been living in Philadelphia, performing and teaching regularly around the city and the country.

I started teaching when I was in high school by putting out Craigslist ads. At one point I had 10 weekly students coming to my house for lessons on guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass.
I have a degree in jazz guitar performance from Temple Univeristy.

I like to start by asking a new student about their favorite music. Usually, students sign up for lessons because they want to learn how to play the music they love, and my job is to guide them through that process. I then structure the curriculum around the music they want to learn, using it to teach fundamental techniques of the instrument along the way.
