About Kyle
I am extremely patient with new students, and I firmly believe that by teaching others I can learn more myself! I currently play bass in a punk band and I have flexible scheduling. After playing consistently for over 10 years and being in several bands, here are some things you can expect to pick up from my lessons:

I most enjoy finding out how people learn. I like discovering if you are quicker on the ball with visual, audio, or kinesthetic teachings.
A few years after I had stopped taking lessons and started playing in bands, some of my friends and neighbors would ask if I'd be willing to teach. And after saying yes every time and developing new connections, I became fascinated with how people learn, and that fascination has led me on a great path of opportunities that I aim to continue for a long time.
I've taken lessons for myself in the past, have consistently taught throughout my years of playing, and understand how to create an effective learning regiment for fun skill progression.

I show and name each part of the instrument for the student, then begin with a few simple chords to practice, and, depending on how the student would like to proceed, begin educating how to read sheet music or tablature.
I've worked with students from ages 10 to 40, male and female, for either years or weeks.
Come with an open mind, and understand that ANY skill requires PATIENCE. There is never a quick or easy way to learning an instrument, but there are no standards and the emotional rewards are infinitely fantastic.
The band I currently play in had a show with a group that had toured down from New York, and we all got along great! I made some awesome friends that day and we all really loved each other's music.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What kind of music would you like to start learning? Do you want to write your own or learn your favourite songs? Will you still want to do this when you realize it's hard? How long do you see yourself playing music? How far would you take it?
If your passion outweighs your desire for instant gratification, you may be a Wolfgang Van Amadeus Halen Mozart and not even know it!
