About Tim

I am considered ny many as a master harmonica player and instructor. Unlike most that say they teach hamoinca along with guitar, voice, piano etc, my sole focus and expertise is the harmonica.

Harmonica is a great instrument. I want to promote it, help

it grow

Over 11 years ago after many requests to give lessons from other harmonica players.

I wrote a critically acclaimed harmonica book called "The Talking Harmonica".

I was just talk to Tim on our last Face time virtual lesson. It has been 10 years since I started taking lessons from Tim. There are not many harp teachers out there. It was one of the best decisions I have made in my musical journey. I was self-taught all my life until I met Tim at a music store where he was selling his excellent harmonic book. He had his band there and one of his students played. I spoke to the student and asked if Tim could teach me how to play like he just did. He said I would learn what I needed in 1 year. So I took those lessons, formed my own band and truly enjoyed my weekly 30 minute lessons. I come to the lessons with questions on how to do things I heard in a song or how to prepare for an upcoming performance. My lessons are also therapeutic. If you want to get better in a short amount of time, then take lessons from Tim Gartland!
