About Maggie
I have a diverse and well rounded education that helps me support students in many areas. In addition to my educational background, I also have teaching, tutoring, and nannying experiences with students across a wide age range. If you're looking for an overall, well-rounded tutor to instill independent learning, then I'm your gal!
Education Background: High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree from Hamline University, and J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
Areas of Interest: Law, Math, Psychology, Business, Etc. - I am always willing to learn new things and brush up old skills in other subject areas!
The joy of tutoring is being a positive reinforcement for students as they master new skills and gain confidence in their abilities.

About the lesson

First, getting to know them, their learning style, and what they are looking for out of tutoring. Then, begin working on problems (if math) or sections (if english/writing/reading) by walking through it together. I let the student lead as much as they are able and walk them through areas of difficulty. With each advance, I will be there with reassurance or questions while the student is able to work more independently. Lastly, celebrate the (little) victories!
