About Jarrod
I'm an Eagle Scout, honors chemical engineering student, been studying martial arts since I was 13. I started teaching self defense in 2009 and I specialize in judo based technique with some muay thai influence.
Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT), Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Specialist (MMACS)
I love seeing the confidence that training gives my students; it's an extremely rewarding experience.
When I was in college, the guy across the hall in my dorm knew boxing but not wrestling; I knew wresting but not boxing. We taught one another session for session, and while we were training we had people ask us about lessons. That's really where it all began for me.
My very first job was as a merit badge counselor at Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation, that was when I first realized how much I enjoy teaching.
I was 15, teaching scouts ranging in age from 12- 17, which presented its own challenges, but it crystallized in me the calling that I felt toward teaching and coaching.
