About Genesis
My first goal is to understand the student as a person and as a learner. I want to be able to connect the student to the learning experience based on their specific needs and background. Making those relevant connections will increase the students' likelyhood in being successful. Those connections make all the difference. I've seen the results in my own middle school and high school classrooms during my 4 years of teaching.
I absolutely love when a student gets an "A-HA" moment when I work with them. The moment when the student says, "Oh! I get it now," is when I feel all our hard work and effort was all worth it.
I started teaching in a middle school in Florida. I've been teaching in Florida ever since.
I have been a teacher for 4 years now. I have a bachelor's degree in Education, and I have a master's degree in Instructional Technology. I have taught both English language arts and mathematics in middle school and high school.

When working with a new student, I follow these steps:
1. Interest Questionnaire and Interview: I want to know the students' interests and hobbies so that I may be able to connect those interests to the topics that the students are learning about.
2. Diagnostic Questionnaire: I want to know the strengths and weaknesses the students have in the subject matter. The diagnostic gives me a snapshot of what the students are able to do at that particular time.
I have worked with a diverse population of students, including ELL (English Language Learner), ESE (Exceptional Student Education), advanced, and general education students. I have worked with students who could work in large groups to students who needed one-on-one attention.
"Choose someone who truly wants to help YOU and wants to get to know what YOU specifically need in order to succeed."

Perfect! My daughter meshed with her very well. She really liked her. My daughter started with a 32F in Geometry in 10th grade the last grading period. She started going to Ms. Genesis and she ended the grading period with an 80B. I am very happy with the help that my daughter received and will gladly use her again if needed.
