About Minh
I have been tutoring students since 2012 and worked at Mathnasium of West Hartford (2015-2017) working with plenty of students before starting my own tutoring business. After gaining so much experience from not only Mathasium but also Hartford Youth Scholars (HYS) and Liberty Partnership Program in Poughkeepsie, I have gained a large passion for working with students and helping them gain knowledge in areas they aren't as comfortable with. My students love working with me and learning under my instructions. I make learning math, chemistry, and biology very fun and interactive. I have worked with students from all different backgrounds from underprivileged to more affluent, from all different races.
Not only am I skilled in teaching math, but I am also strong in teaching Chemistry and Biology at the AP level. As a former student taking AP Biology and AP Chemistry, I know how hard and rigorous those classes are and have personal experience in what it takes to succeed. After taking a full year's worth of those classes, I was able to master the material and gain a 5 in both AP Exams. Getting a 5 is not easy, but I know what it takes to get there and have helped many of my students get high scores! After finishing out high school, I attended Marist College, where I earned my B.S. in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. This is where my knowledge of Chemistry and Biology expanded and I would like to share my knowledge with you!
My goals are to not only help your child learn, but also enjoy learning it and looking forward to gaining more knowledge! Learning with me is very rewarding, and my clients love working with me. I am professional, but also very friendly!

What I enjoy most from tutoring students is that "ah-ha!" moment, where they suddenly get and understand something they struggled to understand before. It suddenly all clicks and when all the pieces of the puzzle are put together, it gives me a feeling of euphoria that is extremely hard to replicate.
That "ah-ha!" moment is what makes my week go and is what makes tutoring so rewarding. For me, knowing that my students gain so much more knowledge after leaving the session than before the session started is what continually keeps me going and motivates me to be the best tutor/instructor possible

Mathematics lessons offered by Minh are tailored to each student's needs and level. Lessons are preferably held in-person for students within everyday driving distance, especially for math.
Lessons can also be held remotely for those not based locally or having other scenarios where in-person learning is a conflict.
Free 10-15 minute discussion (via phone or in-person) with student or parent offered to discuss student’s abilities, skills + needs and their short-term & overall goals.
20-25 minute “trial” period within the first lesson where if a student or parent think it’s not a good fit, they are not obligated to pay for the cost of lesson (After 20-25 minutes into the lesson, they are considered “committed” for the lesson & are responsible for the whole lessons’ fees)

Perfect! I would like to recommend Minh as a AP Chemistry tutor. He worked with my son during the 2019-2020 school year and then my daughter during 2021-2022. Minh was knowledgeable, thorough and caring. He was quick to respond and easy to understand. I don’t think you will be disappointed. Both of my kids achieved an A in AP Chemistry.

I had Minh as an Algebra 2 tutor, and he was absolutely phenomenal. With an incomprehensible level of patience, a deep understanding of mathematical subjects, and an overwhelming dedication towards teaching, Minh helped my confidence and skills in Algebra related subjects soar as the school year passed by.
I can only thank Minh for his help towards this progress, and wholeheartedly recommend Minh to anyone seeking tutoring support.He was incredibly helpful in helping me understand the content for AP Chemistry. It’s a hard course in general, and it just happened to be a bit more difficult for me. However, having Minh there to help me with problems and explain principles and laws to me definitely kept me at speed with the course’s fast pace. He is also friendly as a person and gave me advice on colleges, tests, and managing time with APs in high school. His availability and quick response time made it easy to schedule times to meet throughout the year, which was useful for last-minute review sessions before unit tests. I was having a rough time with the challenging material, but with Minh's help I eventually got a passing score on the AP exam. Overall, very knowledgeable and friendly tutor!

Prices vary from class to class & level of schooling.
Elementary school & most middle school level tutoring is around the $60 base-level. Travel fee, if applicable, depends on distance & travel time & the route taken (as in timeframe of in-person session desired by client may affect travel fee more or less.
Based on distance from either previous client (who I see directly beforehand)’s home/meeting place or where I’m generally based in (W. Hartford nearby Newington & Hartford). Happy to serve Farmington & Newington clients, & even most of Avon & the Farmington Valley area. Willing to take on Glastonbury & Wethersfield/Bristol & Plainville clients.
Love serving CCSU, USJ & UConn Hartford (or Storrs), certain Quinnipiac & Post U, UHart, Trinity Coll., etc. in terms of college students of surrounding area.
Love helping both high-achieving & struggling (underperforming) students of all kinds at both private high schools (& the priv. middle schools) & those attending public schools who are needing help, assistance & guidance :)
