About Megan
Hi!
I am so happy you have found your way to my page. My name is Megan and I am currently a 5th grade math and science teacher. I have experience in grades K-5. I received my degree from the one and only University of Oklahoma (Boomer) and I absolutely love the career path I have chosen.
I started my career in Fort Worth and after two years there I decided to make my way to Dallas. I feel very confident teaching both virtually and in person, which ever you and your family feel most comfortable with. I believe with my help and teaching experience; your child will feel more confident with his or her school work and show progress on both assignments and test.
I think one of the most rewarding things about teaching is seeing a student’s love for learning come to life. There is nothing like seeing a child’s light bulb turn on when they get a new skill. Seeing life through a child’s eyes is a remarkable thing. I believe teaching is a calling and I am so glad that I was called into this profession.

I am currently teaching 5th grade math and science. I have a college degree and a teaching certification. I believe with my college degree, teaching certification, and current job I would make an excellent math tutor.
I taught 1st grade for two years out of college. I have experience teaching phonics, reading, and writing to various age groups. I lOVED teaching reading to my first graders. Getting to see their light bulb turn on when they learn a new word is unexplainable.

If you want a fun, outgoing, driven, and experienced tutor I am the perfect person for you. I believe in tracking and setting goals to see progress take place. I want to help your students feel more confident in school and LOVE going in every day! I want learning to be fun so be prepared for a ton of hands on activities.
I have worked with a variety of stuents. I am an elementray teacher so I onlyw ith with grade K-5. I have working in rural, suburban, and urban school envioremnts. I have taught kindergarten, 1st grade, and 5th grade.
Look for someone who make you feel comfortable and encouraged. You want someone who is always on your side but pushes you appropriately. You never want to leave a tutoring session defeated.
I would say my most recent moment I am fond of is when one of my students in first grade jumped from an AA reading level to a J. It was a very remarkable thing to watch a student who spoke very little english, make such great progress. Teaching the little ones brings a very rare type of joy only teacher can understand.
