About Pooja
Opportunities to teach naturally came to me. While in in high school many families offered me the opportunity to teach their children to perform at a high level. Also, through a high school summer job as a camp counselor, I received a massive volume of requests to tutor children aged 3-5 (as this was the age group of my campers). Year after year with hard work and determination to help others, I have now blossomed into a vocational private teacher.
I received my primary education from the prestigious Glenelg Country School. At this school I received a high-quality and personalized education. The quality education from GCS gave me the skillset to start a tutoring business at the age of 16. I completed my secondary education earning a Mathematics B.A. and another Financial Economics B.S. from the University of Maryland. While in college I kept busy as private tutor on The George Washington University Campus in addition to leading the Mathlab at University of Maryland Baltimore County. In this time, I gained experience teaching college level Math, Statistics, Economics, Accounting, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. My duties at the Mathlab required not only teaching but also discernment to train other tutors to teach these same subjects. I have leadership experience pairing students with tutors in addition to teaching. After completing these two degrees I applied my knowledge in the real world running my own Math- centric, Higher- Management consulting practice for 3 years. I worked for multinational corporations around the world managing business projects and doing various types of math. I also managed cross functional business teams and built economic valuation models for emerging AI and Blockchain startups. The experience I have from over the past decade of teaching paired with years of upper-level academic study and real-world experience gives me useful knowledge that is fresh and ready to share with new students.
Furthermore, I have spent the past year living with monks practicing mediation. This experience gave me immense patience, understanding, and sense of connection with others which makes me an effective and pleasant teacher. I have excellent interpersonal skills. I can connect to almost any person. And once I do, I share the power, positivity, and love fundamental to my lifestyle to empower, inspire, and enable students to do what they want/need. My life’s purpose is to inspire a genuine love of learning around the world.

The R2P2 Education process begins with an initial meeting where I connect with the student, understand their needs, and assess their skills. It is important for me to connect with the student and insure he/she/they is comfortable learning with me. I ask a few questions to understand the student’s communication preferences, learning style, and ascertain the focal point of the student’s learning needs. This takes 5-15 minutes, and then I give the student some relevant material to observe how he/she/they works and what needs improvement. This could be a reading section, a math assessment, or a problem which reflects the subject of relevance. After the initial meeting and assessment, I then design a customized study plan which provides the student with appropriate resources/ practice worksheets, customized notes I share during the session, active grading and feedback for weekly improvement, and q&a sessions intermingled in the learning/practice. The student spends the beginning of each session reviewing or learning concepts, and then spends the bulk of the time applying the knowledge. My teaching process is summarized as engaging every dimension of the student in learning. The student is an active member of the process. We collaborate to create new success and triumph over old obstacles.
I have worked with all types of students. I am blessed to be able to teach all age groups. It is so fun because all my students teach me as well through the process. I have taught all age groups from toddlers to seniors, high school students, college students both young and old. I have taught all ethnic and social groups. Furthermore, I have experience teaching students with special needs such as down syndrome, autism, dyslexia, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, and Asperger’s. All students are welcome in my classroom. I give 100 percent to adapt to the student’s needs and give the student exactly what is needed. I can teach everyone because each student’s study plan is completely custom, and original in its inception and design. I teach everyone because all people deserve access to a high-quality education regardless of creed, class, race, or condition.
The advice I would give a student looking to hire a teacher like me is to be yourself. Keep in mind learning is a judgment free activity. Know I am here to help and lift you up. Just be who you are and come as you are. Remember to be honest, remember to respect the teacher/ the teacher’s time, and remember to be vocal. It is important to express how you feel whether it is good or bad with respect. It is important to be transparent and willing to engage with the teacher on a sincere level. A teacher may teach all the right things, but the student also has a duty to apply energy and focus in the direction of improvement. I also recommend taking the tutor seriously, embracing the suggestions made, following instructions exactly, and putting your heart in the learning as the teacher puts her heart in teaching.
A recent event I am fond of happened in April of 2021. I have been teaching a 9-year-old student in fourth grade math. Her mother hired me due to concern for her daughter’s grasp of division. After 5 weeks of teaching her division and multiplication again and again, the student finally exclaimed in joy, “I get it! I understand division!” This moment was special for me and brought me to tears because I was uncertain if I was reaching her up until that point. I felt so proud of her for persisting through her confusion and not giving up. Hearing a student who often shut down due to the complexity of not understanding and feeling frustrated express a positive perspective towards something previously so hated was magical. It legitimately brought me to tears and was so beautiful and satisfying. Nothing for me is as valuable as hearing my students say, “I understand now.”
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Questions students should consider before talking to a teacher…
1. What is my goal/ What do I hope to achieve by getting a tutor?
2. What do I want to improve?
3. What do I fail to understand?
4. Am I willing to devote appropriate time to studying/improving my performance outside of being tutored?
5. Am I willing to change?
6. Am I willing to commit myself to concentrating during the lessons?
7. Am I willing to be punctual and value the time the teacher shares with me?
9. Am I willing to commit myself to improvement by putting myself and my studies first?

Perfect! Lucy did a wonderful job working with my son on his writing skills. I highly recommend her!
Perfect! Our tutor was amazing! She was kind and supportive and had a very strong knowledge base on the subject area (latin) and explained in a way that was easy for my student to understand!
Perfect! Pooja was great. She was prompt and easy going but at the same time very eager to Teach.
Perfect! Knowledgeable and patient. Worked well with special needs student. Really helped us work through our algebra issues.
Perfect! As a mature, mid-career professional, I sought Pooja’s assistance to help me understand some examples of complex mathematical formulae which I encountered during the course of my work and which were beyond my high-school math education from several years ago.
Pooja did an outstanding job in refreshing my understanding of key mathematical concepts and demystified for me algebraic equations which, upon first sight, were well beyond my understanding. She also improved my understanding of the application of mathematical methods to the field of economics.
As a result of Pooja’s exemplary coaching and support, I have managed to fill a number of gaps in my math education and feel much more confident in dealing with complex mathematical formulae in my professional work.Perfect! Pooja was a wonderful tutor for my grad-level statistics class! She gave me helpful insight for working on the homework and preparing for the exams. Prior to tutoring with Pooja, I had little confidence in what I was doing for the class but I was able to do well on the final thanks to her. She really emphasized with my struggles for the class and I feel like nothing can go wrong with hiring her as a tutor.
Perfect! She was AMAZING not only at teaching my daughter division but having her engage over ANOTHER online distant learning session. She truly wanted to know about my daughter and how she learns. Best experience and would hire again!
Perfect! Pooja is extremely knowledgeable and makes concepts very easy to understand. She takes her time to break down the material and has even changed my views on math for the better! Since tutoring sessions with her I have become more confident in math, improved my test grades, and I’ve adopted better studying habits!

Pooja is a great teacher and has really helped my child to acquire great knowledge in Algebra
I have Ms. Yadav as my tutor for AP Statistics and AP Physics. Before her class, I was very confused and honestly thought of dropping both classes. After I got her as my tutor, she clearly explained any confusing concepts and answered all the questions I had. Ms. Yadav is open to answering any questions I had. She is an honest tutor and is very helpful! I would hire her again if I needed to.
Pooja worked with our son for several months helping him to prep for a school entrance exam. She tailored their sessions to his specific learning needs and developed strong rapport with him. He achieved his goal of passing the test! We hope to engage Pooja again to support him when he starts classes.
My son's tutor is excellent. She knew how to motivate my son and get him to do his very best. She reminds me of the teachers, I had coming up. Very knowledgeable, but also no nonsense. I am very pleased with the service we are receiving. My son is very shy but under her tutelage he is expressing himself much more. Further, my son's grade dramatically increased after he began his tutoring sessions.
Pooja is an amazing teacher. You cant push her around and if you're out of line she'll tell you in a kind but sturn manner. U cant pull any anything on her like "delaying tactics" or other tricks that students pull to get out of work. Pooja is a vary spiritual person, thus she'll teach you how to better optimize your studies and overall learning experience by harmonizing and training your mind, body, and spiritual essence. Not through yoga or anything like that, but by holding you to higher standard of living than you do. In my case this was, getting up early and eating a healthy breakfast before going on a walk and doing a hobby that i usually don't have time for. And if you're not meeting her high expectations she'll let u now in sturn but professional conversation.
Overall my time with Pooja Yadav was time well spent. I couldn't have got into the trade school im in now with out her.Pooja does a great job of breaking down mathematical concepts and explaining what is actually being asked which helped me a great deal. Pooja's schedule is flexible, which I needed as a working adult, and she even offers lessons online! With Pooja's help, I feel much more confident in my math skills!
Very nice and great at explaining the material. Does a great job of breaking down any questions you have and explaining it in a manner that makes sense.
P is a phenomenal tutor. She goes above and beyond for my daughter. She really cares about my daughter education. I couldn’t have ask for a better tutor for my daughter. She gives my daughter that extra confidence and push. I would definitely recommend her to anyone that’s in need of a tutor.
I really enjoyed being in a space where I was inspired to think positively in relation to studying
I first met Pooja while struggling with math at UMBC. She helped me not only pass my class, but also get an A! It brought back my love for math I thought I had once lost. Pooja made everything so easy and understandable in such a calm and friendly manner I enjoyed studying, and even started doing derivatives for fun. She quite literally changed my life!
