About Julie
5+ years of tutoring experiences in K-12 and collegiate coursework.
I love being able to assist students to reach their full potential in their academics and tailor each session to meet their needs.
I've been tutoring independently as well as in university, and have had sessions with over 100+ students with a high retention rate.
I also have over 2+ years experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant, during which I was able to expand upon my skills as a tutor.
I began tutoring and teaching my peers in high school, and this has continued steadily as I moved on to college studies. The on-campus jobs that I was hired for during my time at Temple University allowed me to invest more time in learning how to teach, and how to best support students' needs.
I will be graduating with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in May 2020. I have worked as a departmental undergraduate teaching assistant for 3 years, and have experience in working with students of varied backgrounds. Furthermore, I have over 2+ years experience working at the university tutoring center, specializing in collegiate math and engineering curriculum.

I would like to have a conversation with the student on which subjects are of interest, then what they believe the topics they could use assistance in are.
I would then move on to some problems to identify their strengths and weaknesses which I would use to build a schedule to meet a realistic goal within their expected time frame.
I have had the privilege of working with students as young as 7 years old as well as continuing education students returning for school.

for K-12 students the general rate is $20/hour if online. Rates are subject to change if I am required to travel to the student.
For collegiate students, the general rate is $25/hour, but this may change depending on the rigor of the subject (can be raised or lowered)
