About Dylan
I am third year UCLA student majoring in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. The passion I have observed in the teaching of my instructors have led me to believe that teaching has a profound effect on the growth of students. What I love about tutoring others is that I gain this proud feeling when I see the light bulb click in others, signifying that I taught well.
Tutoring has proved to me to be very beneficial in keeping up with school work as well as managing time. With a set time interval to genuinely work and ask questions, there is much insight to be gained.
I enjoy watching the growth of my students. When the light bulb finally lights up, there's a sense of accomplishment for me. Helping students get ahead is really valuable for students as they learn to use their time elsewhere like finding a new hobby and develop it.
I have helped my teachers tutor their student during tutoring hours during high school. I have seen the ups and downs of student growth in learning. The main issue I have observed is that a lack of foundation contributes to confusion among students.

I typically help to resolve students' confusion on any material that they might have. I believe that foundation is key for students to branch out further and build connections. As a result, I focus on layering a strong basic foundation and evenly distribute newer content to provide for easier understanding. I do this by means of repetition and promoting the student to ask any questions they might have to clear any misunderstandings.
