About Cydney
Hello,
I am a elementary school teacher who is always looking for ways to fill in the gaps our children have. I love children and I love even more watching them learn and grow. I believe in teaching the whole child, therefore ,as I help your child reach their academic goals, I will also increase their confidence. Although I teach elementary school, I am not limited to elementary school math. As a college student I tutored many students in Pre-calculus and calculus, for three years, with every consistent student passing with a B. I'm so excited to watch your child succeed.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. Children give me so much energy and light. I love how their young minds thing and how they view the world. My students teach me patience, accountability, and transparency each day. I always say I learn more from them every day then I ever could teach.
I have a degree in elementary education. I took several tutor certification classes in college as I worked as a calculus tutor at Hampton University.

When i first meet a new student, I like to ask them what they need help with and what are their goals. From there, I ask how they study or what they do in class while the teacher is teaching. After that, we dive into a problem. I need to see how my tutee thinks in order to develop a proper plan and explain things in best terms to them. Last, I ask them what they took away from the session and what we will be ready for next sessions. I like my tutees to feel as in control as possible.
