About Jonathan
A recent graduate from KU (Spring 2019), I can easily connect with students of all ages. I specialize in being able to detect gaps in students' understanding, and filling those gaps by simplifying and connecting main concepts. I have tutored for almost 10 years now, with my students ranging in age from middle school to undergraduate college students. As an undergraduate, I was a teaching assistant and paper grade for 7 semesters (3.5 years), the course content ranging from introductory level math courses to upper level theoretical courses.
I graduated with degrees in Math, Physics, and Astronomy. I love to tutor any level of math and physics, and I expecially love tutoring Calculus and Statistics. I can also branch out a bit and tutor introductory chemistry, as well as ACT/SAT prep and AP test prep. Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calc, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations are also available services. Any math or physics course is fair game!
My service stands out because as we progress through a tutoring session, I keep detailed and organized notes that I leave with the student to go back and reference for future study on their own. I am always available for a quick question over text after a session if a student needs a reminder of what we covered.
My favorite moments that come from tutoring are when I recognize that a student has made a connection and understands a concept. In other words, I love being able to help students have the "light bulb" moment when they understand something on their own fruition. I strive for this to happen for all my students, as this is what gives them confidence in themselves for their future work.
