About Nicholas
Hi! My name is Nick H. I graduated from Brown University with B.A. in Classics, and from Harvard-Westlake high school. I have over teaching experience, having worked for a variety of tutoring companies in Los Angeles, and as a private tutor.
I specialize in elementary, middle and early high school math, specifically Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Elemetary Math. I know where students in these subjects tend to get confused, and have become adept at diagnosing a student's problem very quickly.
I teach students how to break down problems and formulate a plan so that they they don't freeze when they encounter something unfamiliar on a test. I have hours and hours of experience breaking down difficult concepts like positive and negative numbers, one step equations, and triangle congruence (just to name a few). I especially love working with students who think they are bad at math, and proving to them that with enough patience, persistence, and discipline they are in fact more than capable of achieving high marks in the class.
