About Nicole
I did not begin teaching until I become a mother. Once I became a mother I creatively figured out how to be a stay at home mother. While offering a service to other children in a daycare/after school setting.

Artist Bio
Nicole Paul is an artist of sculptures, abstract paintings, mask and ceramics. She is known for her vibrant colors, lines, forms and reggae rhythm combined to create a visual glimpse of her soul.
Nicole was born in Hartford, Connecticut and is of Jamaican decent. She obtained her high school diploma from Wilton High School located in Wilton, CT. Her love of art began as a teenager in all mediums including woodwork, photography, jewelry making and fashion design. She continued her education at Shaw University and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1997 with a minor in Fine Arts.
After graduating from undergraduate school Nicole decided to attend graduate school at Florida A & M University/ Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. While attending graduate school she majored in Community Psychology and minored in Fine Art/Art Therapy. It was in Tallahassee, Florida that Nicole decided to develop her career as a practicing artist.
She began working for established artist in the Tallahassee community. She worked at Cotton Colors Pottery where she was exposed to craft shows/pottery business, she was an apprentice at George Griffin Pottery in Sopchopy, Florida and have had her art work exhibited in juried shows in Florida, New York and Connecticut.
She now resides in Bridgeport, Connecticut, with her husband and two children. Her children are the inspiration of her entrepreneurial spirit. After entering the world of motherhood, her desire to open her own business grew stronger. As an evolving artist stepping out on faith, she decided to pursue her dreams of making a living off her talent, her joy, her passion and her peace while raising her children. In July of 2011 she graduated from the Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO) with plans of opening her own art studio/mini gallery to give the world a visual fragment of her soul to purchase. As well as exposing youth in the community to art experiences.
Many of her pieces have four consistent colors that flow throughout the entire collection. According to the artist, “the colors red, gold/yellow, green and black symbolize the love and dedication that I have for my roots, culture, and the “Most High.”

I would speak with the student, find out their interest, and set up an appointment for a lesson. The first lesson will be more about getting to know the student, find out their skills, build a rapport and schedule the next appointment.
I have worked with children and adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds and walks of life. I do Sip and Paint Parties, children birthday paint parties, workshops at the library, and a variety of art events.
I would advise my students to be free and enjoy the creative process.
I recently did a art event for mothers who lost their child to gun violence/suicide. I want to continue with the Art of Healing.
