About Tanner
The world of photography is a saturated market full of tech and opinions. It's not easy out there. Stading out and standing apart is half of the business. The other half is being a good person. Doing the right thing and treating people the right way is how I stand out to my investors. You see, my clients are not just clients, they are investors. I learn something new from each photography session that I take to the next and that's what makes Tanner James Photography stand out.
I have always been a natural teacher of things. Teaching others about photography was just a way for me to have an audience while having fun!
I have always loved photography in all of it's forms. In 2010 I decided to turn it into a degree. I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Southern California. This prepared me for both the technical side and business side of the photography world.

When meeting and working with a new student I like to treat the first stages as an interview of sorts. We'll discuss what your sillset is and where you would like it to be. What motivates your work and where you see it taking you. Sometimes learning one theory or how to work a setting is all you need to apply that new lesson to your photography. Other times working on set is what you really need. Either way I will take the time to really find out how to best approach each task with you every step of the way.
Most often I work with students that have little to no experience with photography. They are my favorite becuse they're a blank canvas and eager to learn! I also colaborate with other photographers and assist in refreshing others in file management and learning new tips and tricks.
Interview and meet them! You don't have to like them but it helps. After that, learn!

My standard pricing is per hour unless we are working on an ongoing project together. At the time I will do a package price with half up front and payments for the balance.
