About Mark
I've been a photographer my entire life, going professional in 1996. My passion for image creation and desire to create superiror images has provided a comfortable life for my family and I. I look forward to sharing your passion for photography.
I received my first camera at the age of 8, a gift from my Grandmother. I'd spend summers shooting fields, streams and ranch life near my home in Slaton Texas.
Years later, I began formal study at PPA Affiliated Schools around the US, eventually becoming a Master Photographer, then receiving my Master Artist Degree.

I've been on the PPA Speaker Circuit since 2002 when invited to give a program at the Texas PPA fall seminar.
I've been an instructor at the Texas School of Professional Photography for 5 years. I've toured the country giving workshops and speaking at photographic conventions for 15 years as well as giving online lessions for several years.

I like to spend the first lesson gauging where my new charge is in their expertise level with Photoshop. This will help me going forward to make sure I'm not over their head in my instruction.
After that, we start with simple tips, tricks and excerises, working our way up to more advanced processes.
Photoshop is very complicated. It's best to bite off a small bite at a time.
I've worked with portrait photographers mostly but also commercial and art based photographers.
Find an instructor who's style is close to your own. This will help in your learing process.
I was recently named to TeamUSA for the World Photographic Cup. The WPC is an Olypmics style worldwide photographic competition between 30 participating countries.
Only 17 US photographers were chosen for the USA Team.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be sure your instructor knows which direction you'd like to go with your career.
It'd be a waist of time for him/her to spend alot of time in compositing when your area of practics is portraits.
