Mike is an amazing teacher. He has so much knowledge and experience with all types of photography. He is able to break things down for you in a way that makes it so easy to learn. I always struggled to learn how to use off camera flash but Mike was able to teach it to me in only 2 short sessions. Highly recommend Mike!

It is nearly impossible to learn flash photography techniques from a photography book, but learning flash from Mike, and being able to hear it from an actual teacher rather than reading it from a textbook or online, makes all of those numbers, equations, and technical terms clear as day!

I had a great experience working with Mike of Ember studios. Although I consider myself experienced when it comes to studio and on location lighting, events just were not my thing. My process got the job done, but it was a chore. Mike taught me a simple, efficient and effective lighting technique that not only produced stunning event photos, but actually got me to enjoy them for a time. A great system means your not reinventing the wheel each shoot. I was also able to incorporate more smaller flash in my work and less studio strobes for some of my environmental portraiture. I would recommend Mike if you want to improve your event and wedding game, with the added bonus of another tool for your lighting toolbox.
