About Angalina
Hi I have been in the education field for over 6 years. I myself majored in biomedical science as an undergrad student at the University of central Florida. During this time I worked as a teaching assistant for anatomy, immunology, and chemistry. I have also worked as a peer tutor for many courses such as biology 1 and 2, intro to chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and more. Currently I teach high school chemistry. I love what I do, and feel passionate about helping others achieve academic success.
I like knowing I have the ability to make subjects that seem scary or intimidating more approachable. Over the years I have encountered hundreds of students, and have seen so many different learning styles. I can tell when someone feels frustrated with a lesson and do my best to adapt to the students needs. This is a challenge for me, and I love seeing the faces of students when they finally have their "aha moment" :)

Preferably I would like to know what the student's needs are before beginning a lesson. For instance, you may need help with biochemistry, but knowing the specific topic (for example the glycolytic pathway) helps me to come prepared for a tutoring session. In the initial session I hope to learn where the student is struggling and attempt to fill in information gaps. Hopefully by the end of the first session the student will have gained the help they need to get over the first hump and study some on their own. I also want all my students to know that I am available for questions that they may have as they study independently. I recommend write down their questions when they are on their own, and bring them to me so that we have a clear plan as to what to cover during a tutoring session.

Angalina is like a human encyclopedia! I first met her when I was studying for intro to chemistry at Valencia college. She was working at the tutoring center for the school.
