About Elaine
I majored in music in college (B.A. at Yale University) and have been teaching
piano since I was in middle school. I love teaching—whether it’s music or art.
Every student learns at a different pace. I work one-on-one, so that I can tailor lessons to each person. Students acquire a thorough foundation in music.
Theory and technique are included at each level. It's like learning a language. I mix up piano-playing with various visual aids: magnets, flashchards, occasional iPad apps.
My goal is to help students become well-rounded musicians and
to enjoy playing piano with an exposure to a variety of musical styles.
We learn the basics, jazz/pop, seasonal (Halloween, Xmas/Hannakah)
and classical pieces.
I received a B.A. in music, Yale University
