About Valerie
I love music! It is a true joy! And learning music should be a joy as well.
Yes, I teach how to play an instrument. But we also learn about the instrument, how to understand and compose music, and how to have fun while working hard.
I have been playing piano and flute for over 35 years. I have a Bachelors degree in Education with a minor in music, have been teaching private lessons for over 12 years and am currently working on my Music Education Masters Degree.

Valerie is a wonderful and talented teacher. I have two kids that have been taking music lessons from her for a few years now. They really love her and are doing great with their music! They don't feel pressured or worried during their lessons because she is easy going and understanding towards the kids. Valerie knows how to keep kids motivated and I really recommend her as a music teacher!
Valerie has been teaching my children for the last 4 1/2 years. They are progressing very nicely and my daughter who is in high school is shining in band and other opportunities she tries out for. My son loves playing the piano and is doing well. Valerie is a very talented and theory oriented teacher. She really pushes students to learn all about music and not just how to play an instrument.
