About Kenneth
I teach all STYLES of Music including (Improvisation, Classical, Pop, and Gospel) I've been teaching really since I was in College. I love teaching all ages!!! I do teach out of my home in Turlock, CA ... but I'm flexible to travel to your home if necessary (within a 15 miles radius). Join me and see how much FUN learning Music can be.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and a Masters Degree in Church Music.
I have also received the GMA's DOVE AWARD for "Musical of the Year", "MAKE US ONE" co-written with Babbie Mason and David T. Clydesdale.
I love watchihng a "SMILE" come on to the face of a student that gets that "Ah Ha!" Moment!!! The light bulb comes on and they understand an element of Music they had never discovered before! That brings my life meaning!!! To see Students Smile. Music can be FUN!!!
I taught Lessons when I was getting my Music Degree in College. I've been teaching over 20 years.

Speak to Students on their eye-level and Welcome them to the Music Lesson. Ask how they're doing and smile. Tell or ask them about something positive about themself. (I love that jacket you're wearing). Let them know this is going to be a wonderful experience for them and that Music can be FUN!
Find out the MUSICAL GOAL(S) from the Student ... are they taking lessons for a reason? Find a Song the Student LOVES and learn that song - then move onto other material. I treat each student as an "individual student!" No 2 students are alike. They are all Special and are treated as such!
I've worked with beginngers who have never had a Music Lesson before and I've worked with professional Opera Singers and Theatre Singers. I see what the GOALS for each Student are and we go from there.
Set aside a small amount of TIME each day that you can practice your craft. It makes a world of difference if you can invest some time into what you believe in. With no practice ... you will not get better. (*Maybe the only free time you have is after Dinner for 15 min. ... well, that can be YOUR TIME to set aside for you to learn your craft!) I'll support you 100%.
I remember a while back I had an older man take piano from me because he wanted to learn songs to play for his wife who was in an assisted living facility. He would learn LOVE SONGS to play for her and I visited him as he played for her and she just smiled with JOY! Isn't that what MUSIC is all about ... bringing JOY to yourself and others? I believe it is and that's why I do what I do!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Can I afford Lessons? It breaks my heart for students to begin something they cannot afford to keep learning and growing. Make sure you can afford lessons. (For example, don't book an hour every week if you really can only afford 30 min). Know your budget and limitations.
