About Olivia
I deeply enjoy helpings students improve their skills in a broad array of subjects. I am currently an undergrad at Bucknell University with an intended Sociology major. I have tutored locally around my hometown primarily in English but I have a background and knowledge of the social sciences, English and grammar, environmental science, history, some math, and other core curriculum subjects. Overall, I can help students create better study habits that will lead them to achieve better grades.
I am currently a sophomore at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. I graduated from the Taft School, a private boarding school in Connecticut, in 2019. This past year, I took an Educational Psychology course which taught, in depth, the most effective ways to teach students new material and how to keep students engaged. In addition, my senior year at Taft I volunteered at Girls Inc where I would tutor and help students with their homework multiple times a week. Frequently I help my brother, who is a 5th grader, in subjects like math, English, science and his other core curriculum classes.

Typically, in the first few sessions, I try to grasp what the student is primarily struggling with and why this may be. From there, I use the information I have learned and cultuvate a study plan with specific goals I would like the student to reach. Then, I implement study skills that I encourage the student to use in and beyond the tutoring session.
I primarily have worked with elementary and middle school students but I am extremely open to the idea of working with high school students as well.
