About Ian
I am an active chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher throughout the United States and Europe. As an educator and pedagogue in the metro valley for the past 20 years, my students have consistently received superior ratings and highest honors in regional and state competitions. My dedication to my private violin and viola studio in Charleston is evident, with many of my students pursuing their musical studies at prestigious institutions such as Indiana University and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
I most enjoy finding a path to helping the student discover a pathway to expression through the medium of the vioin, viola, and chamber music. From my youngest most beginner players to my most advanced....we enjoy serving the music together!

We have found this rare quality in Ian Jessee. Mr. Jessee's passion and love for the violin along with his superb knowledge and expertise of the violin shows in every lesson. Ian is an incredible violin teacher! He makes sure that his students learn techniques correctly the first time. Ian spends as much time as needed with my son on each aspect of his playing - musicality, technique, rhythm. He makes sure that the student understands the concepts behind each, making it much easier for the student to succeed. Ian is very aware that not everyone learns in the same manner so he adapts his lessons to each individual's needs. This, in addition, to his encouraging and supportive attitude, makes him stand out as an excellent teacher.
