Heart Spot Yoga.com is a noncompetitive, peaceful and revitalizing yoga practice for every body. Expand your awareness of the present moment as you experience this integration of Hatha yoga with Don Stapleton's Self Awakening Yoga. Breathe at a moderate pace to integrate the energy flow of your body. Chanting, pranayama, joyful movement and mindfulness bring relaxation and stress reduction. Strengthen your body, clear your mind and uplift your heart and spirit!
I love teaching yoga. It is an amazing experience for both student and teacher alike. I am always learning from my students, and learning from life, how to improve my teaching. Practicing yoga is an important part of my life as well. It's all an ongoing process of discovery. Who we are, why we are and what we are are the questions I strive to answer while teaching.
Bhavanam, aka Bobby or Bhavvy, discovered yoga taught by Mary Pafford in Ukiah CA in 1999. Relocating to Providence RI in 2002, he received his ERYT-200 from Eyes of the World in 2010. He was given the name Bhavanam by Don and Amba Stapleton to honor his RYT-500 certification from Nosara Yoga Institute in 2016. He owned a yoga studio,The Heart Spot, in Johnston RI from 2012-2018. His experience there guiding students through a gentle practice, created Heart Spot Yoga. He also teaches Vinyasa yoga. Bhavanam taught Heart Spot Yoga at yoga studios from Rhode Island to Virginia. He continues to study with Maryam Ovissi, Jafar Alexander, Lili Robins, Anne Petrov, Tom Gillette, Erik Strzempko and others, and is always seeking more knowledge. His classes focus on the balance of breath with body movement to create a sense of profound well being. Bhavanam (as R. Bobby) is also a theatre artist.

I always enjoyed Bobby’s class and the warm & positive environment he creates.
He is a great teacher, he can be challenging but accommodating as well. Bobby is what I would call an authentic yogi. His teachings are deeply rooted in the tenets of yogic philosophy and thus his classes bring one in touch with the wisdom at the heart of these teachings. You'll experience a deep connection with your heart. There are no stylized antics here. Only a sacred emanation of what is truly born from love. I've studied with Bobby for years and I deeply value his approach through asana, mantra, and the revelations of the sutras. Treat yourself to what is highest and best with this genuine bhakti yogi. The experience was always warm welcoming and never boring.Bobby was always supportive ,loving and non-judgemental.I loved his philosophy, chanting, and meditations .The yoga was a complete mind and body experience for my life. Everything was "the breath".Namaste
