About Brett
I am a highly experienced academic English tutor with a proven track record of supporting international students, particularly those from China and Thailand, as they prepare for and progress through UK university study. Over the past decade I have taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students, providing tailored support on pre-sessional programmes as well as in-sessional courses once students are enrolled. My academic background is in Politics, and I regularly tutor students in related subjects such as International Relations and History. Before moving fully into higher education, I gained professional experience in the corporate world, working in the field of financial services with PwC. A typical session lasts 60 minutes and blends strategy, practice, and feedback. I use clear models, real-world examples, and practical exercises so that progress is measurable and directly applicable to your studies or career. Beyond language improvement, I provide application support, pre-university preparation, and in-sessional guidance once you are enrolled. Many students continue with me as a mentor throughout their university careers, receiving help with coursework, presentations, and dissertation writing. I am a DELTA-qualified English tutor with more than ten years of experience at UK universities, working with both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
