About Charlie
I am an experienced ESL educator with a strong academic and professional teaching background. I have taught English at multiple colleges and have worked internationally, including teaching English to government agents in foreign countries. These roles required a high level of professionalism, cultural awareness, and precision in language instruction. In addition to my teaching experience, I have personally learned another language fluently as an adult. This firsthand experience allows me to understand the challenges students face, from building confidence to mastering grammar and pronunciation. I use this insight to create lessons that are structured, practical, and encouraging. My teaching style is clear, supportive, and goal-oriented. I prioritize accuracy while maintaining a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident practicing English. Lessons are carefully planned, adapted to each learner’s needs, and focused on real-world communication. I use a student-centered, communicative approach focused on practical, real-life English. Lessons are tailored to each learner’s goals, level, and learning style, with an emphasis on speaking confidence, clear grammar explanations, and supportive correction.
I bring extensive teaching experience, including working with government agents in foreign countries and teaching at multiple colleges. Having learned another language fluently as an adult, I understand firsthand the challenges of language learning and apply that insight to my teaching.
A typical lesson includes a brief warm-up, clear objectives, guided practice, communicative activities, and focused feedback. Lessons are flexible and adapted to each student’s needs.
My lessons are for beginner to advanced ESL learners, including students, professionals, and adults seeking improvement in conversational, academic, or workplace English.
