About Carrie

I've taught classes to Law Enforcement Officers and post-secondary students as well. Many of my students have remained in contact to let me know what they're currently doing which makes me very proud. I'm a substitute teacher in South Florida and like to think that I teach in a way that makes learning fun and easy to remember.

South Beach is my hometown and while I was in high school, I volunteered as a tour guide for visitors. It was fun to meet people from around the world and teach them about where I grew up. This experience taught me that people learn things differently. It is important to me that students fully understand the material so I find new and different ways of imparting the information. I utilize all types of methods including music, games or what if scenarios. You're curious now, aren't you? The student's learning and retention of what was learned is paramount. What good is teaching if the student can't remember it?

About the lesson

I attended the University of Florida and majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice. I had studied English as my minor. Then, I went to the University of Miami School of Law to become an attorney. I realized that I enjoyed being dramatic so trial work was a perfect fit for me. I talked to juries and judges the way I talked to strangers! I've traveled extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and a bit of Africa and would love to do more! I'm intrigued by people and the stories they have to tell. I'm curious and fun and interested in the world. I hope you are too!
