About Anurika
Hello, I’m Anurika, a supportive and passionate singing teacher, who is here to help you explore your voice with confidence. I have sung for a number of years, singing carols, then school music concerts and I even continue to sing in my church choir today. I also studied music for two years in high school - learning the basics of performance, music theory and vocal technique. My knowledge of formal music training came full circle when I passed and completed the Victoria College of Music Exam during high school. I am patient, practical, down to earth, and fully committed to guiding you in gaining practical skills at your own time, as I can understand what it means to start from the beginning. I would start with the basics like pitch, how to hold a note, breathing techniques, confidence, vocal warm-up. I'll break down complex topics. Use real-life examples and events to help the students grasp concepts and provide feedback if needed. A typical lesson would start with vocal warm-ups, technique focus, assisted song practice, and then wrap up. I have been singing since I was in high school and have been a member of my church's choir for about 2 years now. I provide a judgment-free environment to make the students comfortable, focusing on not just notes and keys but making students feel good about their singing. I would not only teach but I will also support my students in any way I can and build up their confidence, providing results without pressure. The lessons are mainly for beginners, those who want to build up their confidence, those who want stress-free, fun singing lessons.
