About Mia

I’m a French tutor with over 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Language Education, specializing in French. I work with students preparing for university-level exams in French literature, philosophy, and critical theory. My teaching is grounded in structure, clarity, and academic rigor. I offer focused lessons on textual analysis, helping students break down complex literary and theoretical works. We study major literary movements—such as Romanticism, Realism, and Surrealism—as well as philosophical frameworks from thinkers like Sartre, Foucault, and Derrida. I also guide students in developing advanced essay writing skills, with attention to argumentation, organization, and stylistic precision. My approach includes research techniques, proper citation practices, and strategies for building strong analytical theses. We read closely, question deeply, and build a toolkit for understanding both language and meaning at a high level. Whether you're preparing for exams, writing a dissertation, or seeking to engage with French texts more fully, I tailor each lesson to your academic goals. I challenge students to think critically and express themselves clearly in both written and spoken French. With dedication and guidance, you can master the language of intellectual discourse. Let's unlock your full potential in French academic excellence.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on helping students speak French with confidence, especially when it comes to fashion and personal style. I create engaging, practical lessons that center around real-life communication. We focus on vocabulary for clothing, accessories, colors, and fabrics, along with useful phrases to describe styles and express preferences. I use a wide range of visual sources—lookbooks, fashion magazines, and street style images—to bring vocabulary to life. We also explore current trends in French fashion and how to talk about them in natural, conversational French. Each lesson includes clear, step-by-step support to help you describe outfits, give opinions, and understand what’s seen in fashion media. You’ll learn how to talk about shopping, describe what someone is wearing, and understand the language of French fashion culture. We also practice listening and speaking through role-plays, picture-based activities, and guided conversations. I make sure each lesson feels creative, fun, and practical. This method works especially well for students exploring French as a hobby or adjusting to life in a French-speaking country. I help you feel more confident in social settings and everyday conversations about aesthetics. With every lesson, you’ll build vocabulary, fluency, and your personal voice in French.
