About Pauline
I’m a French native speaker who moved to the UK for university 8 years ago.
When I arrived, I thought my English was solid. After all, I’d had good grades at school. My first real interaction was a disaster, and I quickly realised that what I’d learnt in class wasn’t enough. It was too focused on grammar and writing, not enough on actually speaking.
It took courage to start real conversations with English speakers, but the more I practised, the more comfortable I became. And once I unlocked speaking, everything else got easier.
That’s exactly what I want to offer my French students: the chance to unlock speaking first.

Having learnt English as a second language myself, I highly value getting comfortable and not being scared of making mistakes while speaking in the language you want to learn. Fear is the primary blocker, so if you get comfortable speaking/understanding first, the rest will seem easy!
That’s why I love to teach based on conversations. They can feel tough at the beginning, but you quickly get comfortable!
