About Louis
Hello there! Thank you for dropping by my advert.
My name is Louis, and I believe traditional science lessons don't go far enough to be engaging and memorable
So as a biochemistry graduate, I started LTS tutoring with a focus on making my lessons go further than just exam prep, and focus on sparking a real passion for the subject within each student.
I teach through metaphor, storytelling and by channeling the interests of each individual. We embrace tangents in the lesson, and integrate concepts from across philosophy and psychology to make the content come alive and mesh with their existing knowledge.
I welcome all types of students, (especially neurodiverse learners) with tiered support suitable for all circumstances.
Standard rate for 1:1 tutoring is £25 p/h, with packages of 10 Lessons available at £235
Introduction session (1hr) completely free!
This includes: Meet and greet, assessment of your individual learning style style, current skill level check and outlining your academic goals.

I have a BSc Biochemistry from the University of Exeter, though I do not claim to have a teaching qualification, I have experience tutoring science from GCSE through to A-Level. My enhanced DBS check certificate is valid and available to see by request. My sessions are NOT recorded, but the transcript of each lesson may be kept with parental permission. All information given is kept in compliance with GDPR guidance. Payments are due in advance of each session after the introductory session.

I believe every student learns differently, so in the introductory lessons we work through what learning style works best and any ways we can accommodate each student.
My teaching method is focuses on making a topic interesting, memorable and accessible.
Then reviewing and re-affirming the information through spaced repetition, exam question tutorials and resource creation.

Perfect! Louis tutored my son during his final year at secondary school and throughout his GCSE science exams. The best endorsement I can give Louis, is that my teenage son George would often remind me that it was, ‘Louis tonight’. Louis’s lessons were well organised and well structured. He went to great lengths to make sure every session was relevant and thorough. George quickly improved in confidence and understanding in the classroom, his teachers remarked on the change too. Super-revision sessions the day before GCSE exams meant George had an extra boost of learning to make ready his knowledge and settle his nerves. Incidentally, Louis’s approach to revision and how to pass papers influenced George’s revision technique across the board.
I would highly recommend Louis as a tutor. He has a thoughtful, patient approach with kids and is completely on top of his subject.
