About Daniel
Daniel was born and raised in Lima, Peru, where his elementary and secondary education established a foundational interest in Latin American literature. After moving to the US, he found health education to be the main driver for his philosophy of wellness, leading him to pursue a Bachelor of Sciences in Interdisciplinary Health from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Thus, Daniel has established a career in healthcare acting as a medical interpreter, corporate health counselor, clinical research assistant, and client relations executive for diverse startups.
He currently holds certificates in Medical Interpreting Translation Studies, and is currently expanding his skill set by pursuing a certificate in Yoga philosophy.

Through adept cultural brokerage, you will learn the language by delving into the songwriting of various genres like Spanish Rock, Spanish Hip-Hop, Reggaeton, and various Afro-Latino compositions.

Film Discussion:
You will be assigned iconic Latin American films and hold discussions with him on your takeaways from the cultural representation and dialectal word-choice.

Literature Discussion:
Do you enjoy reading short or long texts? Dive into the rich world of Latin American literature by reading short poems or longer chapters of books (a list will be available) and prepare to discuss vocabulary acquired from the reading.
