About Ked
The level of respect I show my students ensures that they have the confidence to be responsible for their practice and their development. It also creates a comfortable atmosphere as I guide them towards solutions and improvement. In my teaching, patience is very important to me. There is never a limit on number or kind of question on behalf of the students, which generates a mutual understanding between the teacher and the student when it comes to what methods work best on an individual basis, in addition to generating the comfort required to create an effective learning environment. When I have given lectures at the graduate level, I frequently check in with the students to make sure no one is lost in information they received earlier in the lecture. That same patience and attention is given to students at an individual level.
I have been asked to provide lessons to students at institutions and for those seeking individual instruction. I have worked for teaching studios and taught out of my home or in the students' homes. I also currently tutor for Manhattan School of Music during the school day. My lessons are approached with a reliable professionalism and thorough experience in teaching.

My teaching method ensures that students learn how to learn, not only to replicate the results we achieve in their lessons. My students are taught what specific techniques are used to diagnose aspects of their playing we might find undesirable or inefficient. A typical lesson begins with breathing technique, then technical exercises which allow the student to develop fluency on their instrument both in technique and in musicality, followed with work on individual repertoire as well as repertoire for any ensembles they might be in. My students learn to be good teachers in addition to good performers, understanding the development of good instrumental practice as well as understanding what is happening in the music from a theoretical perspective. Such a deep understanding of music influences the expressive decisions of the students when playing, as well as recognition of patterns that accelerate the learning process.
My lessons are designed to meet the students where they are at, whether it be preparation for college auditions, band programs, recitals, or interest outside of an institution. I have taught students at the elementary level through graduate level.

I met Ked nearly 12 years ago through her dad, who also teaches music lessons. She is an incredible teacher who is very good at identifying individuals' needs. She creates effective lesson plans and strategies to meet your needs and specifically helped me with technique and expression, which is not easy! Ked is very kind and patient, has years of experience teaching others, and instills a deep love of music. :) I couldn’t recommend her more!!!
We cannot say enough great things about Ked and the impact he has had on our son Jacob through music. From the very first lesson, Ked showed an incredible ability to connect, encourage, and bring out both confidence and creativity in Jacob. He doesn’t just teach music, he teaches passion, discipline, and belief in yourself.
Ked has a rare gift for making lessons both structured and fun. Jacob genuinely looks forward to every session, and the progress we’ve seen in his musical ability, focus, and enthusiasm has been amazing. Ked knows how to meet a student where they are and guide them forward in a way that feels exciting instead of overwhelming.
What really sets Ked apart is his patience, talent, and deep love for music. He explains things clearly, adapts his teaching style to the student, and always brings positive energy into every lesson. Jacob feels supported, motivated, and proud of what he’s learning and as parents, that means everything to us.
We highly recommend Ked to any family looking for a music teacher who is not only extremely talented, but also genuinely cares about his students. Jacob has grown so much under Ked’s guidance, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he has done.
Thanks Ked, keep up the great work!
Ked was great! I only had a few lessons from her, but always learned something new whenever we met. She has amazing advice gives great instruction. Would definitely recommend her for any/all skill levels!
Ked taught our son via a couple online lessons and it went great. Ked knows their stuff and was able to quickly see what level our son was at and taught at that level.
