Graduate from the University of St Andrews with an Honours Degree in French. Lived in Geneva for 8 years, during which I was only schooled in French (allowing me to become fluent).

About Christian
Ever since I became fluent in French when I was younger, I have been inspired to learn new languages. I learnt that the more languages you speak, the more people you are able to communicate with and ultimately connect with-- this makes life richer. I now speak English, French, Spanish and a conversational amount of German. My selfish draw to teaching is the fulfilment I feel from helping someone learn a new phrase, conjugate a new verb tense, or correctly pronounce a new word. It is these experiences that have led me to want to teach more people.

As it is ultimately the student's time, I always make sure to first ask what it is the student wants to learn or focus on, in order to make the most of the sessions. Conversational practice, writing practice, grammar practice-- from this list I tailor my sessions based off of what the student needs to work on most. I typically teach 1 hour sessions, but can also do 2 hours. Having been a French student all my life, I can say with confidence that any lesson that exceeds 2 hours becomes unproductive after the second hour.

Je recommande Christian comme professeur à toute personne qui débute en français/anglais ou qui cherche à s'améliorer! Christian a vécu aussi bien dans des pays francophones qu'anglophones et sait parfaitement jongler entre ces deux langues. Il a toutes les compétences écrites et orales pour vous aider et est très bienveillant.
I'm excited to recommend my friend Christian as a French tutor. He's fluent in French, having grown up in both Geneva and California, giving him a unique cultural and linguistic edge.
Christian has a super friendly, laid-back vibe that makes learning with him feel relaxed and enjoyable. Think of a cool surfer who's also a language whiz! He's great at making complex French concepts easy to understand and is always patient and encouraging.View more recommendations
