About Alba Raquel
Born and raised in Puerto Rico. I have BA Criminal Justice, MA in Caribbean History/Literature and, MEd curriculum and teaching Spanish. Full-time Spanish Teacher at Public School District in New Jersey. Love to talk about my culture and learn from my students.

I believe learning a language should feel natural, enjoyable, and connected to real life. In my lessons, I put conversation at the center because I want students to use Spanish with confidence right away—not just memorize rules. I love bringing in authentic materials like stories, songs, videos, and cultural traditions so that Spanish feels alive and meaningful, not just something from a textbook. During our sessions, I give instant feedback to help with pronunciation, grammar, and word choice. That way, students can grow more confident while avoiding mistakes that might otherwise stick. I also pay close attention to each person’s learning style—whether they learn best by seeing, hearing, or doing—so the lesson always feels tailored to them. Above all, my goal is to make students feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to use Spanish in their own lives.
