Graduate of the University of Toronto (BMus) and the Manhattan School of Music (MMus, Composition) teaches music theory and composition at all levels + beginner-intermediate voice lessons.

Emily taught our daughter music (voice and theory) for one year - and would still be had she not moved away for school. She was very patient and thorough as she knowledgeably walked through her lessons. Always encouraging and with great attention to detail, she helped our daughter set and achieve ambitious goals. But above all, Emily's kindness and caring was what made her stand apart and made the difference in our daughters overall success. We highly recommend her. She is an excellent teacher.

Emily is an amazing teacher. Every week I looked forward to her lessons and she made it fun while learning. She challenged me and encouraged me if something was difficult. She was able to see my level of understanding and she adjusted my lessons. Emily didn't feel like a teacher, rather she felt like a friend. i would highly recommend her 10/10 - 5 Stars

I have known Emily for about two years, and I can attest that she is as passionate about learning as she is about teaching. Emily is an extremely experienced pedagogue, composer, and performer, and sharing her knowledge and experiences is immensely meaningful to her. Emily is professional, reliable, and dedicated; she is easy and pleasant to communicate with. In addition, Emily is very flexible and can easily adjust to any level and approach. I cannot recommend her higher!

Emily and I have collaborated for more than half a decade as performers, composers, and music theorists, and there are very few people I trust more to be able to provide approachable, detailed, and downright interesting explanations to all of my questions! I’ve seen her as a teacher with students of all ages and experience levels, and she never fails to tailor her vocabulary and material perfectly to the individual student.
